I had little to no sex education of any kind when I was in school. We weren't even told anything about menstruation, date rape and unwanted pregnancies. We weren't told anything about HIV. My parents and I never talked about sex, ever. I knew virtually nothing about it before I actually participated in it. After the first time I had sex, I tried to forget that it even happened for a long time. It was just one of the worst experiences of my life. It was awful, it was really frightening. The guy was much, much, much older than myself, and I felt that he really had power and control over me. It was without my consent.
