I think a lot of pressure comes really from the media. People are having sex, and it's what you see, and it's what you hear and what you expect, so if you're normal, that's what you're going to do.

I don't think you see a commercial and then you're going to go out and do what that commercial says. But the media does really set a lot of expectations - if you have sex then you're going to be cool and rich and famous.

They don't mention HIV, and you don't get unwanted pregnancies on TV, and you know nobody is getting chlamydia or syphilis on Beverly Hills 90210.

A lot of the magazines printed for teenage girls really just say all you're here for is to have sex and that's what your purpose is, to please boys. You should be skinny, and you should have big breasts and long legs, and just be beautiful and carry yourself exactly right, and walk the right way, and talk the right way and have your hair the right length, whatever the length is that week.

For guys, you're supposed to be macho and play lots of sports and be well built and be able to drink a lot.

What I look for in a guy in a relationship is really for him not to be a guy. For him to be able to respect me and be able to talk to me and be able to support me.
